Queer Futurism

Queer Futurism

Thursday, November 20, 27 & December 4, 11 18
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
2SLGBTQPIA+ folx, ages 15+

Queer Futurism is a 5-week, self-directed program exploring the topic of Queer Futurism. Influenced by Afrofuturism, Queer Futurism imagines a future (or re-imagines a past) where all queer and trans identities are celebrated.

During weekly group studio sessions, throughout November and December, we will engage in discussions and art exercises, ponder queer joys, struggles, and hopes as we imagine the future of queer folx together.

Each participant will develop and create artwork which will be included in a group exhibition on the Open Gallery in June and July, 2026. This is an opportunity to develop your artistic practice in a queer space, explore a theme meaningful to the queer community, and be part of an exhibition.

Presented in partnership with Kamloops Pride.
