Be part of a stellar team that transforms empty gallery spaces into vibrant, engaging artistic visions!
The Kamloops Art Gallery is seeking a Gallery Installation Assistant to work in a recurring position.
This position is a little different in that we need someone for about 2 or 3 weeks every 3 to 4 months on average (early January, May, September, and October), for 35 to 40 hours per week.
It’s a physical job that requires someone who can move temporary walls, patch and paint walls, and move and pack/unpack crates, place art pieces, and hook up audio-visual equipment. You will need basic power tool and carpentry experience.
It’s also a hugely satisfying job: You get to see your hard work transform the gallery spaces for the enjoyment of many. And you will explore new ideas and materials, get to work closely with art works and artists, and learn more about contemporary art.
Have we mentioned the great team you’ll work with? We’re committed to working hard together, doing an exceptional job, and realizing the benefits of a job well done.
So, it you’ve the flexibility to work with us for a few weeks every few months, have basic carpentry and painting skills, and know how to use power tools – bonus if you love art – we’d love to hear from you.
Explore the full job description at the link below and apply now! We will begin reviewing applications August 14, 2026.
Join us as one of our valued sponsors, and become a partner in our mission to lead community engagement with art and experiences that open doors.
Each Thursday, the Gallery is open late from 10 am to 8 pm. Stop by post work or for a special evening out. Admission is FREE Thursdays thanks to the support from BCLC.
We look forward to seeing you here.
The Women’s Art Initiative, launched in the fall of 2022, is an effort by the Gallery to bring together women who are invested in amplifying the work of women and under-represented artists through exhibitions, programs, collection-building acquisitions, publications, and research.
