Altered Books

Thursday, May 29
6:00 to 8:00 pm
Adults, Pay-What-You-Can

Play with the realms of fiction and reality through the creation of a new work of art by reimagining an old book. Together we will discover how redaction, addition, and layering can alter narratives and tell entirely new stories.

This will be a fun and social evening with light instruction on how to use easy techniques such as folding, cutting, collage, and stenciling to create  unique spreads inside your book. Participants are welcome to bring dry materials they would like to incorporate into their altered book such as photographs, magazine cutouts, or hand-written notes.

Folks of all abilities are encouraged to participate. All tools and materials are provided. Registration is required.

This program is pay-what-you-can. All proceeds support the Gallery's exhibitions and education programs.
