Please join us for the opening of the summer exhibitions.
Town + Country: Narratives of Property and Capital features works by one collective and 10 artists. Co-organized with the Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery at UBC, Town & Country is co-curated by Caitlin Jones, KAG's Charo Neville, and Melanie O'Brian. The curators and a number of the artists will be in attendance and are looking forward to connecting with the Kamloops and area community and talking about this collaborative project.
Gambletron, Johnny Forever Nawracaj, and zev tiefenbach bring us Diasporist Anchors for Future Memory curated by Craig Willms. The artists will also be joining us and will have participated in a 10-day residency at the Gallery in the lead up to the exhibition opening.
Following the Curators’ Tour, the reception in the KAG Studios and Atrium includes live music, an art-making area for children, as well as wine sponsored by Twisted Spirits on 3rd, beer from Bright Eye Brewing, and coffee.
Everyone is welcome. Please bring a friend. This is a FREE public event and our opportunity to come together and celebrate the arts in Kamloops.
Gallery memberships are also 25% off at openings. We look forward to seeing you here!
Town + Country: Narratives of Property and Capital is made possible with the generous support of the Audain Foundation, Jane Irwin and Ross Hill, the Hamber Foundation, the Canada Council for the Arts, the British Columbia Arts Council, the City of Kamloops, and the Belkin Curator’s Forum members.
