Art & Conversation: Bluto’s Cave

Tuesday, March 12
10:00 to 11:00 am
FREE for KALS members

Join us at the Kamloops Art Gallery for an interactive guided tour of the exhibition, Bluto’s Cave: Allegory of the Man Cave, and engage in lively explorations of some of the relevant themes.

Bluto, the arch-nemesis of Popeye the Sailor Man in vintage comic strips and cartoons, is the consummate villain and bully. Here he stands in as the malevolent mascot associated with contemporary masculine stereotypes. For his upcoming exhibition at the Kamloops Art Gallery, Patrick Lundeen will produce a series of sculptures that satirically investigate these tropes. The works on display will include elements of sound, video, and music that invite viewer interaction.

This program is offered in collaboration with the Kamloops Adult Learners’ Society (KALS). You must be a member of KALS to participate.

Registration is available online at  kals.ca/registration/
