SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION

After 25 years of providing space for local aspiring artists to study at home alongside peers from across the country and around the world, Thompson Rivers University's Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program officially closed this spring.

For nearly two decades, the Kamloops Art Gallery has devoted one exhibition per year to the emerging artists of the TRU BFA graduating class, providing many of them with their first professional exhibition in a public art gallery.

This fall, we honour the remarkable legacy of TRU’s BFA program with an exhibition in The Cube, In the rear-view mirror. Featuring nine alumni, the selected artwork reflects practices that were nurtured by the intensely supportive and committed faculty who formed TRU’s uniquely generative Fine Arts program.

While the university program has come to an end, the need to support artists in this community has not. We are committed to offering unparalleled support for artists at all levels of their careers, encouraging them to take risks, ask questions, and express themselves through their practice.

Your donation today supports this work and helps to make exhibitions like In the rear-view mirror possible. Your gift will support artists through exhibition fees paid at national standards, thoughtful curatorial mentorship, meaningful public programs, and opportunities for visitors of all ages to engage with contemporary art in ways that inspire curiosity and conversation.

If it is within your means, please give generously. A gift of any amount helps to ensure that the next generation of artists continues to find encouragement, opportunity, and a place where their voices matter.
