This poetry reading on nature and climate brings together local writers and high school students to share original work exploring land, place, environmental change, and our relationship to the natural world. Held during the week of Earth Day, the event connects artistic expression with reflection on community and the choices that shape our shared future.

Invited poets Garry Gottfriedson, Sue Buis, Thom Vernon, Pete Smith, Wendy Weseen, Lindsay Curry, and George Johnson will read alongside student participants, and visual artist Bonnie McBride will be working live in the space. This reading marks the revival of Transition Kamloops’ Nature Friendly Yards project.
