Street Art Smart with Nate Doucet

Saturdays, 3:30 to 5:00 pm
June 24
AGES 15 to 25, FREE

Discover the underground world of graffiti and unleash your creativity in a safe and fun environment!

Have you ever wondered what graffiti style art names and letters mean? Have you ever wanted the opportunity to meet street artists and pick their brains? Are you an aspiring graff-writer, an artist interested in typography, or just looking to try something new? Then this series of workshops is for you to learn some of the fundamental techniques of graffiti art!

This fun, comprehensive workshop series with Nate Doucet will provide step-by-step instruction on graffiti art, the theory that goes behind it, and its application as a creative outlet. There’ll be lessons on letter structure, hand-style design, bubble letters and fully realized masterpieces. We even plan to hold “free-wall” spray-paint sessions once you’ve grasped the nuances of all the different tools of the trade. From pen and paper, to markers and canvases, stickers, buttons, and more!

No prior experience is needed, materials are provided, all you need is a willingness to be part of a vibrant, positive, and growing community, and an interest in expressing yourself creatively, through the combination of words and art!
