We are excited to collaborate with the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Language and Culture Department to offer this programming. Centred on values of Indigenous land stewardshipand inspired by the care for the natural world expressed in Laura St. Pierre’s: All That You Change Changes You, this workshop offers hands on basket making techniques along with an introduction to the language of this land. 

Spend a part of your Saturday or Sunday learning the traditional methods of making a k̓éme te mim̓c (pine needle basket) and try out a few Secwepemctsín words. You are welcome stay for half the time or stay the whole time. We are happy to provide a respectful and relaxed learning and socializing space. 

No previous experience is necessary, all materials are provided.
