Winter 2023
School programs are available for this exhibition from January 24 - March 17, 2023.
Exhibition on view // Paul Walde: Glacial Resonance
Through immersive video and sound installations, Glacial Resonance shares Paul Walde’s concerns about the environmental crisis. With glaciers as the primary focus, Walde’s work explores how land use and human activity impact Earth’s ecosystems and what these effects mean for us all.
This exhibition engages with subject matter that connects across curriculums, below are a few of the many science and visual arts curriculum connections we have identified. You can also expect your students to leave with a basic understanding of how we are impacting glaciers, global warming, and what we can do to work towards a more hopeful future. If you have specific outcomes in mind, please reach out to discuss how we can create something to suit.
Visual Arts
express feelings, ideas, stories, observations, and experiences through the arts // describe and respond to visual and performing art pieces and provide constructive feedback // use the arts to communicate, respond to, and understand environmental and global issues // examine relationships between the arts and the wider world
Science
consider some environmental consequences of their actions // compare observations with those of others // identify simple patterns and connections //demonstrate curiosity and a sense of wonder about the world // communicate observations and ideas using oral or written language, drawing, or role-play
