Summer Art Instructors

The Kamloops Art Gallery is seeking two enthusiastic students to prepare for and offer Summer Art Camps for children.

The ideal candidates are pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and/or Education degree. They must have a willingness to learn, a passion for teaching and art, excellent verbal communications skills, and enjoy working with children. Strong organizational and computer skills (specifically Microsoft programs) are an asset.

Applicants must be a student between 16 and 30 years of age; have been registered as a full-time post-secondary student in the 2023/2024 academic year; intend to return to school on a full-time basis for the 2024/2025 academic year; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have Canadian refugee status; be legally entitled to work in Canada; be registered with the Young Canada Works online candidate inventory (when available online at https://young-canada-works.canada.ca); and be willing to commit to the full duration of the 12-week work term.

Wage: $20.00/hr

Employee status: Temporary Full-time (June 10 to August, 2024, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some exceptions to accommodate programming.)
