Our programs and events offer opportunities for people of all ages to learn how art connects us with our daily lives. Focusing on the KAG’s current exhibitions, programs include art camps, interactive tours, activities and workshops that encourage self-expression and experimentation while learning about art techniques, basic design concepts and a variety of media. Our events include exhibition opening receptions, fundraisers to inspire you and special happenings in the Gallery Store.

Join us for fun-filled weeks of art making and exploration at the Kamloops Art Gallery!
Through experiences in our galleries with summer exhibitions echoes and In the Paint, field trips in the community, and adventures in our studios, young artists will discover new ways to share their stories. Each week will offer opportunities to learn through play and create artworks of all sizes. We will be making books, costumes, drawings, sculptures, paintings, prints, and more!
Our programs provide participants with the opportunity to create art in a safe, encouraging, student-led space with a focus on process-based learning.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON DRAWING CLUB

Join us in the Tricia Seller and Ken Lepin studios on Wednesday afternoons to draw, meet new friends, and talk about art.
Each week will begin with some light instruction highlighting an artist, technique, or drawing tool, followed by open studio time. Practice what you just learned, work on a personal project, or just gab!
All drawing mediums are encouraged, and artists of all abilities aged 16 and up are welcome.
No registration is required. Drawing materials will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own as well. KAG Art Instructor Anyssa Fortie will assist with troubleshooting and guidance on the weekly technique, but this is not an instruction- focused program.

Indigenous, non-Indigenous, Metis, Inuit, LGBTQ++ youth aged 16 to 26 are invited to participate in this “crash course” in digital media led by artist Chris Bose.
Participants will learn how to make short films, music videos, and content for social media with a focus on TikTok, YouTube, and Vimeo.
Learn to tell your stories, create your own content, and discover new technical skills. Get hands-on learning experience with digital photography, video editing, stop-motion animation, and more.
