Made in Kamloops: Youth Artists' Residency Program

Thursdays, 3:30 to 5:00 pm
November 2, 2017 to June 28, 2018
Ages 17 to 21

Made in Kamloops
is a new program offered by the Kamloops Art Gallery designed to create links between youth and the contemporary art world.

Through Made in Kamloops, participants will learn to work collaboratively with their peers, their educators/mentors and contemporary artists. They will learn to think critically, develop a creative world view and make original art in response to monthly topics.

Students involved in Made in Kamloops will get a behind-the-scenes look at how an art gallery operates and will work with their peers to make authentic work, design a catalogue and curate an exhibition.

Anyone interested may apply with a reference letter by October 23. Space is limited so apply early!

This program is generously sponsored by the Edwina and Paul Heller Memorial Foundation.

// Who can apply?

All current residents of Kamloops aged 17 to 21 are eligible. Prior art-making experience is considered an asset, but is NOT a requirement.

// What does it cost?

There is no cost to participate and art-making materials will be provided for all projects.

// What kind of a time-commitment is required?

Made in Kamloops participants must be able to commit to meeting weekly on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:00 pm and on occasional weekends from November 2, 2017 to June 28, 2018.
